Friends in Seattle will recognize this as my typical winter outerwear, but those of you in northern Europe know that this counts as early spring outerwear. It’s officially spring but not really warm, so what do I wear when I head out the door?
My wool coat instead of my down coat.
My regular boots instead of my snow boots.
Lightweight gloves and an umbrella instead of heavy wool gloves and a wool cap.
Eventually we’ll have real spring, which begins for me when I see flowers blooming and trees budding. For now, we are in that in-between season of no longer winter but not yet spring.
